Compare the amount it will cost to get the item into usable condition—not just the price on its listing. Start with the actual checkout total, then add any necessary collection travel, cleaning, alteration or repair estimate that is not already included.
This is a practical Rand-based comparison worksheet. It does not quote a VaKoop fee percentage or promise a courier rate.
Write down the total before deciding

VaKoop's published terms say the checkout shows the applicable total and fees before confirmation. Use the actual amount shown for your order, rather than copying a delivery or fee figure from an old post. If you do not understand a charge, ask before paying.
If your checkout already includes shipping and the buyer fee, do not add them again. The worksheet starts with the total, not the subtotal.
Worked example: cheaper listing, more expensive purchase
The following figures are hypothetical arithmetic, not live VaKoop prices or courier quotes.

Option A has the lower listing price but costs R65 more in this example. Option B is not automatically the better buy: condition, fit, evidence and whether you actually want the item still matter. The calculation simply makes the cost difference visible.
If the alteration has not been assessed, Option A's total is not reliably R355. Mark the alteration as unknown and get a quote, or decide whether you would buy the item without altering it.
Compare like with like
Two similar-looking jackets may differ in material, condition or usable measurements. A complete cost comparison does not erase those differences. Use our fit guide and condition checklist before deciding that one is an equivalent substitute.
Likewise, compare a delivered order with another delivered order when that is how you need to receive it. If you compare delivery with collection, include the collection trip and whether it is practical for you.
Check timing without buying a guarantee that does not exist
For an outfit needed on a specific day, ask when the seller can dispatch and review the actual delivery option. An estimate is not certainty. If late arrival would make the purchase useless, that uncertainty matters even if the Rand total is attractive.
Avoid relying on an old blanket “nationwide delivery” amount or a generic blog's arrival promise. The relevant quote is the one applicable to the current order and route.
