What Genio actually is
Genio is the AI assistant that lives inside the VaKoop app and web. You open it from the bottom bar, then either upload a photo or just type what you want in plain English. It understands SA slang. The rule that makes it different: anything that touches your listings, your money, or a message to a buyer, Genio always asks you to confirm first. It drafts. You decide. It never acts on its own.
That word agentic is the point. Plenty of apps have an AI box that answers questions. Genio takes real, confirmed actions in your shop once you approve them.
The fast way: a photo becomes a listing
This is the part most sellers love, so here is exactly how it works.
1. Add up to 8 photos
Open Genio, tap the photo button, and pick up to eight photos from your camera or gallery. They can be eight separate items, or a single photo with a pile of things in it.
2. Genio reads every item
Computer vision looks at each photo and identifies each distinct product. It reads the actual text on tags, labels, tongue tags and prints first, because that names the brand and exact model far more reliably than guessing from shape. A tongue tag reading SPLY-350 tells Genio it is a Yeezy Boost 350.
3. One photo can become many listings
If your photo has three hoodies, Genio gives you three separate draft cards. If it has four pairs of sneakers, it counts pairs, not single shoes, so you get four drafts, not eight. Drop a photo of your wardrobe pile and Genio hands back a stack of ready listings.
4. Each draft comes filled in
Title, description, brand, category, size, condition, colour, parcel size, and a suggested price. Where the photo cannot tell the full story, Genio asks a short, specific question, for example the size on the tag if it is not visible, and uses your answer to sharpen the draft.
5. You approve, skip, or edit
Go item by item with approve or skip, or approve the whole batch at once. Tap any card to edit the title, price, size or condition inline. Nothing publishes until you say so.
6. It goes live
Approved drafts publish straight to your shop. Most items take under a minute from photo to live listing.

How the price is worked out
Genio's suggested price is not a guess from the open web. It scores real comparables from VaKoop's own catalogue: same brand, then category, size and condition, and it leans on items that actually sold over ones still sitting active, because a sold price is a true price. So the number you see reflects what South African buyers are really paying for similar preloved items right now. You can always override it.
